RE:Think Your Profession, the Journey Has Begun

Across Europe, students are stepping into the TEACH transnational challenge inspired by NEB values.

Across Europe, students are engaging in a learning experience that invites them to look ahead and imagine the professions of tomorrow. Earlier this autumn, TEACH launched RE:Think Your Profession, the New European Bauhaus-inspired challenge that brings together sustainability, inclusion and beauty as guiding principles for future work.

Today, classes from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Romania have already entered the first phases of the challenge. While the framework is shared, each group is shaping the process according to its local context and priorities, creating a constellation of parallel yet unique learning paths.

The challenge is anchored in the three core values of the New European Bauhaus:

  • Beautiful, by designing ideas that uplift and improve everyday life.
  • Sustainable, by protecting both people and the planet through long-term thinking.
  • Together, by creating inclusive, community-driven solutions.

Guided by their Teamchers, students have begun the Engage and Investigate phases. They are analysing how the world of work is changing, discussing the competences future citizens will need and observing how their territories reflect — or challenge — NEB principles. In doing so, they are not simply studying the future of professions; they are learning to position themselves within that future.

Challenge-Based Learning gives rhythm to this exploration. Through CBL, students learn by doing, collaborate in teams, think creatively and explore issues that affect their local communities. This combination helps them develop ideas that feel grounded, relevant and connected to real contexts.

In the coming months, students will transition into the Act phase. Concepts developed during reflection will evolve into prototypes, experiments and local collaborations. What begins in the classroom will gradually take shape in the form of concrete proposals.

Updates from all participating countries will be shared as the challenge evolves and new insights emerge.
