Collaboration is a core NEB value, essential for shaping inclusive and community-driven solutions.
The New European Bauhaus emphasises collaboration as a foundation for meaningful change. Many of the challenges facing societies — from environmental transitions to questions of equity — cannot be addressed individually. They require shared processes that welcome diverse perspectives and ensure no voice is excluded.
Within the NEB framework, “together” carries several dimensions. It means collaboration, bringing different skills and viewpoints into a shared effort. It means listening, especially to voices that are often absent from decision-making. It involves community-building, designing spaces where people feel connected and valued. And it requires responsibility, recognising how ideas influence others and the wider ecosystem.
In the TEACH challenge, weekly tasks help students explore what feels collaborative — and what does not — in their chosen profession. They gather perspectives from adults outside school, compare emerging patterns and create a shared Miro map. They also identify potential collaborators who could bring new insights to their challenge.
Practising “together” thinking equips students with a civic mindset anchored in cooperation. It reinforces the idea that innovation is most meaningful when co-created with others, rather than pursued in isolation.
